Arsenal will welcome Leeds United to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday in the Premier League and all eyes will be on the Gunners to try and put their present bad form behind them by clinching a win in this tie. Here is the team Arteta is expected to use for the clash:
Goalkeeper: First-choice goalie Bernd Leno will be returning from his one-game suspension after missing the defeat to Aston Villa last weekend. Although his deputy Mat Ryan impressed, he could not stop the home side from snatching away all three points.
Defense: For the sixth consecutive game Kieran Tierney will be absent from the Arsenal team and will not feature in this coming fixture as well. He is out with a knee injury so his expected replacement is Cedric Soares. Spanish defender Hector Bellerin should still keep hold of his place at right-back and David Luiz will be available for selection after also serving his suspension.
Gabriel could retain his spot on Sunday and since Pablo Mari is back fully fit, he could also feature even though Rob Holding is the one who deserves the spot.
Midfield: Summer signing Thomas Partey is out with yet another injury after coming off in the game against Aston Villa with a thigh problem. The Ghanaian midfielder will be greatly missed by Arsenal on Sunday given that his strength will not be used as a weapon against Leeds.
In Partey’s absence, Dani Caballos could get the nod to start and is expected to line up alongside Grant Xhaka. Mohammed Elneny is expected to be on the bench. Martin Odegaard’s impressive performances so far could mean that he may be handed a full debut finally since signing from Real Madrid back in January as Emile-Smith Rowe is expected to take a rest.
Attack: Star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to lead the like for the Gunners and could be paired up with Nicolas Pepe and Bukayo Saka.
